Patrick riding his Arabian stallion Tammen

He is a well known Arabian horse breeder. His stallion Tammen was well known in the Arabian horse world. Tammen passed over the rainbow bridge on April 21, 1999 but his legacy lives on. Arabian horses are his passion along with his wife, Lisa.

Patrick has had his share of riding accients too. During filming of LETTERS FROM A KILLER (1998) on 9 May 1997, he broke both legs and tore four tendons in his shoulder when his horse threw him into a tree. He said he grabbed the horse's mane and flipped himself around so that he wouldn't hit the tree with his head.

Patrick Swayze and his wife Lisa live on this $2.5 million equestrian estate in the San Fernando Valley. The Swayze's have owned the ranch style property since 1984, the lot includes a 3,000 square foot, 4 bedroom, 3 bath home, a smaller guest house and horse boarding and riding and facilities. The Swayze's also own numerous other properties including a holiday home at Lake Arrowhead, a ranch in Sante Fe, and a condo in Los Angeles
